Kathmandu Maoists bombed Nepalgunj Municipality building in Mid-Western Nepal this morning. ''Preliminary reports said the powerful blast completely destroyed the building's ground floor,'' media reports said here today.
However, there were no casualties as the explosion occurred in the early hours.
Maoists have announced they will disrupt municipal elections scheduled to be held on February 8.
The four-month unilateral ceasefire ended last week. The rebels said the government did not respond positively and the Royal Nepal Army killed their cadre during the cease-fire.
Six security personnel and one Maoists have been killed since the cease-fire ended last week.
