Denuking, embargo plans against Iran

Dated 13/1/2006

While preparations are underway to denuke Iran, Germany and Britain have suggested to the US, Russia, France, China, India, Canada, Japan and South Korea that a trade embargo should be imposed on it with immediate effect if it fails to comply with the IAEA agreement.

Germany has circulated a note to these states co-sponsored by Britain which suggests that Iran is crossing a threshold to judge the response of the international community, and as an extreme measure, a detailed road map is being constructed to destroy Iranian nuclear facilities.

Iran is dangerously testing the resolve of the world community, the note says.

It suggests that the trade embargo will bring pressure on Iran and convince it that greater reprisal is in store if it proceeds with its illegal weapons
