Quetta: A powerful blast in a police station on Saturday jolted Gwadar. No loss of life was reported, but the police station building and a vehicle were damaged.
Police officer Lal Jan Baloch said that they had cordoned off the area, but no one was arrested. Officials haven't indicated much but the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) is suspected for the attack.
BLA is fighting for the freedom of Balochistan from Punjab and Pakistan. Balochistan is Pakistan's largest province and is extremely rich in minerals and gas. However the people remain one of the poorest in the world.
The Balochi people accuse Pakistan of 'stealing' their resources.
The Pakistan Army had launched huge campaigns against the BLA in the past few months, and hundreds of innocent Balochis are suspected to have been killed. Few reports of gasing of Balochistan also emerged.
Back in the 70's Balochistan had witnessed a genocide committed by the Pakistan Army against the Baloch people. eos
