Jaipur Terror Strike: Five Explosions Rock Pink City; 50+ Injured

Five major blasts rocked the pink city of 'Jaipur' on Tuesday (May 13) at 7.35 pm. The serial blasts occured in Tripolia, Manek Chowk and Chandpol Gate, while the fourth blast occured at Lakshmi Mishthan Bhandar in old Jaipur. Though the cause of the blast is still unknown, it's learnt that five blasts occured within a span of half an hour in the walled city of Jaipur. According to initial reports, around 6 people have been killed, while 50 have been injured.

According to initial reports, around 6 people have been killed and 50 have been injured. The injureds were rushed to Sawai Madhav Singh hospital. Five blasts occured within 15 minutes of each other. The blasts reportedly occured at crowded market places and populated areas of the city.

Following the serial blasts, Delhi and Mumbai has been put on high alert. The blast reportedly occured in a stranded car, while another at a shop. The blast triggered panic and near stampede situation at all the five congested areas.

Ironically, there were intelligence inputs of active terror sleeper cells in Jaipur. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Director General of Police A S Gill said it was "obviously a terror attack." Commenting on the incident, Sachin Pilot, Cong MP, Dausa said:"It's the handiwork of terrorists, however, the details are sketchy now, the final picture will emerge after some time."
