Maoists threaten more attacks in Nepal2006-01-15 Kathmandu: A day after the attack and killings of more than a dozen policemen here, the Maoist rebels have threatened more attacks, the media reports today said.''This is the beginning of our military strategy to strike the enemy's head,'' Kantipur quoted Anant, in-charge of the Maoists' Special Central Command, as saying. He was referring to Saturday's attacks in the outskirts of the Capital. The Maoist leader also reiterated his party's commitment to work in unity with the seven parliamentary parties, the civil society, and all democratic and Left forces of the country to end the ''feudal monarchy'' and establish a democratic republic, the paper said. He called the government's plan to hold the municipal polls a ''comic drama'' to gain legitimacy. Maoists have said that they would disrupt the polls of the municipalities to be held on February 8. The major political parties representing more than 95 per cent of the seats in the last election have also said that they will actively and peacefully boycott the polls and make it a complete failure. However, the government has said that the election will be held at any cost. Sponsored Links
