Britain is all set to push for an early sanction against Iran in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to force it to return for unconditional negotiations.

Diplomats said that Britain, Germany, the US and France will table a comprehensive plan to prevent Iran from acquiring or reaching near to making WMD's.

Britain has circulated a draft plan to be presented in the UNSC in March for immediate sanctions so that the Iranian leadership feels the heat before making war propaganda.

The British initiative is backed by a number of European and Asian nations who are part of the Iran nuclear talks.

Britain has proposed in the draft that sanctions on Iran must increment from economic and diplomatic to military action.

Western intelligence agencies suspect that Iran is playing for time by offering chances for diplomacy to succeed while showing defiance at the same time.

"Iran is headed in two different directions," said a Western diplomat. "This means either they don't know where the issue is going, or they are too smart."

But the emerging opinion is that Iran must suspend nuclear-related activities or be disarmed.
