Indian Navy finds its shimmer in Eastern Naval Command

Vishakapatnam: The Naval authorities are now focussing on developing Eastern Naval Command (ENC) in tune with its growing importance in the South Asian region that is poised to dominate the global maritime trade and defence sector to a large extent.
The strategic importance of Visakhapatnam has already been duly recognised and accordingly the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) is considered an operational headquarters responsible for implementing the Look East policy, which is seeking greater involvement of the Indian Navy in maintaining the balance-of-power dynamics with China.
Force-wise, the Defence Ministry has decided to strengthen the ENC. For this purpose, the Central Government has already approved the Indian Navy
