Bomb blast in crowded market in Balochistan, 4 killed2006-08-14 Four persons reportedly killed and four others injured when a bomb exploded in a crowded market in Balochistan on Monday. The explosion comes on Pakistan's Independence Day with Baloch rebels fighting the Pakistani administration. The explosion ripped through a shop in the town of Hub, some 580 kilometres southeast of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province, Geo TV reported. The explosion took place as the country is celebrating its independence day today. A large number of people were gathered in and outside the shop to buy national flags when the device exploded at 12:30 pm, the channel reported. The blast created panic among the residents of the town which has seen several bomb attacks in recent months. The injured were taken to a local hospital. This is the second blast in Hub in less than 10 days. A suspected suicide bomber was killed last Sunday when the bomb he was carrying exploded. No one has claimed responsibility for today's attack but the authorities blame such blasts on anti-government tribesmen. The tribesmen, however, deny any involvement saying they do not target civilians. Sponsored Links
