The Indian Military Academy (IMA) is on alert for all possible terrorist threats, IMA Commandant Lieutenant General K K Khanna said on Friday.
Speaking to reporters on the occasion of the 59th Infantry Day celebrations, Lt. Gen Khanna said no such attack could take place if people remained on alert.
"It is necessary to be alert. There is no example of anything going wrong when we are alert," he said.
Both Lt. Gen. Khanna and Uttaranchal Chief Secretary M Ramachandran laid a wreath at the IMA War Memorial along with other officers on occasion of Infantry Day.
October 27 is celebrated as Infantry Day to mark the Indian Army's first ever engagement just two months after independence. During the 1947 campaign, the army lost 76 officers, 31 JCOs and 996 other ranks. The wounded soldiers were around 3152 that included 81 officers and 107 JCOs.
