Electronic Warfare System Upgrade for Pakistani F-16 Fighter Jets

ITT Avionics, Clifton, N.J., is being awarded a $78,006,082 firm-fixed-price and time and materials contract. This requirement is for Foreign Military Sales of the AN/ALQ-173 (V) advanced integrated defense electronics warfare to the country of Pakistan.
This electronic warfare system will be used on the F-16 aircraft being procured under separate acquisition by the F-16 program office.
Associated spares, support equipment, training, engineering services, flight test support and data are also being acquired under this contract. At this time, $39,003,041 has been obligated. Solicitations began February 2007 and negotiations were complete March 2007.This work will be complete January 2010.
Headquarters Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins Air Force Base, Ga., is the contracting activity (FA8523-07-C-).
Pakistan has ordered a total of 111 F-16A/B aircraft. Of these, 71 were embargoed by the US due to Pakistan's nuclear weapons program. Of these 71, 28 were actually built but were flown directly to the AMARC at Davis-Monthan AFB for storage.
After Pakistan's help in the war on terror, the US lifted the embargo. In 2005, Pakistan requested 24 new Block 50/52 F-16C/Ds (with option for as much as 55 aircraft). At this moment, it is still debated in the US wether these aircraft will be delivered.
