Para Military Forces Rushed To Punjab To Curb Unrest

Kamaljit Singh, a resident of Sangrur, was returning from Talwandi Sabo where thousands of Sikhs had gathered to protest the alleged sacrilege of the Sikh Guru Gobind Singh, when a clash broke out with supporters of the Dera Sacha Sauda.

Singh was shot dead - the first casualty in the violence between the two groups. The five Sikh high priests who met at the Talwandi Sabo Gurudwara near Bhatinda have given the Punjab government time till Sunday to act against the Dera.
