Bangladeshi terrorists activating before summit

2005-10-27 For the past month, agencies have been intercepting communications suggesting that about three hundred hidden terrorists are trying to set up a training camp in the hills of Tangail district, which is a hundred kilometres from Dhaka.

The terrorists belong to the Jamait-ul-Mujahideen (JuM), Harkat-ul-Jihad-e-Islamic and Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, and significantly, the JuM, which was inactive since it triggered four hundred blasts in Bangladesh on 17 August, has come alive just ahead of the thirteenth SAARC summit in Dhaka next month.

Without foolproof security, the Indian delegation would not risk attending, and officials said foreign terrorists, speaking only Arabic, had been picked up in the interceptions.
