Two infiltration bids foiled in Kashmir, 10 terrorists killed2005-07-25 Srinagar, July 25 (PTI) Ten ultras, including five Pakistani intruders, were killed as security forces foiled two infiltration bids along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, where a hideout was busted and a militant laid down arms since last night.Three unidentified militants were killed by security forces as they tried to sneak into this side of LoC at Lasha Dat in Machil sector of North Kashmir Kupwara district in the wee hours yesterday, the Defence spokesman said. He said a huge quantity of arms an ammunition were recovered from the possession of the slain militants including three AK 47 rifles, 10 magazines, one radio set, one UBGL, seven UBGL grenades and six Chinese grenades. Foiling another infiltration bid in the same sector, security forces shot dead two ultras last night, he said. The spokesman said the slain ultras were trying to sneak into this side of LoC but were challenged by alert troops and were neutralised after a gunbattle for several hours. The recoveries from the militants included two AK 56 rifles, 14 magazines, one UBGL, 70 UBGL grenades, one radio set, 44 hand grenades and nine IEDs, he added. Infiltration in Jammu and Kashmir has increased in recent days due to broken fencing which was damaged at many places during heavy snowfall. Two Pakistani militants affiliated with Lashker-e-Toiba outfit were killed in an encounter with security forces at Dev Chatra in Baderwah area of Doda last night. An AK rifle, two magazines, a wireless set, a UBGL with three shells and some ammunition were recovered from them, the police spokesman said. Sponsored Links
