China selling arms to ULFA

Seven Chinese arms dealers who visited Bangladesh in September and October have struck deals with the ULFA for weapons' shipment to the outfit through northern Burma.

The arms dealers had come to Dhaka, Chittagong, Cox Bazaar and Jessore in September and October, and clandestinely met ULFA leaders, including its chairman, Paresh Barua.

Since then, the Indian Army has learnt about those meetings, but the only way to stop the consignments from reaching India is to work with Myanmar and Bangladesh, but both countries have poor law enforcement.

The Indian Army and Navy chiefs will visit Myanmar and take up the matter with the Burmese authorities, because the military has the names of places from where the local Burmese and Chinese arms dealers operate.

There could be raids in these places.

Of the seven Chinese arms dealers, four are from Hong Kong and three from Macao, and both these are administrative zones of the People
