November 29, 2007 - Wipro Technologies, the global IT services business of Wipro Limited (NYSE: WIT) today announced that it has signed an agreement to work with BAE systems on commercial aerospace projects. As per this agreement, both the companies will establish a technical development centre in India to work on projects covering a range of systems for BAE Systems Platform Solutions in the commercial Aerospace domain.
Wipro brings to BAE Systems its proven product engineering leadership that leverages on deep technology implementation knowledge built over the last two decades. Wipro’s product engineering service offerings in Aerospace & Defence address Avionics, Systems Design, Satellite Navigation, Embedded Computing Systems, Communication Systems, Mechanical Engineering, PLM and Technical Publications. BAE Systems programs will benefit through a rich engineering talent pool, access to new markets and flexible business models that will enable them to deliver high performance to end customers.

This partnership follows a Memorandum of Agreement signed by BAE Systems and Wipro in June, 2007. Initially the contract is with BAE Systems Electronics and Integrated Solutions, however in the long term, these arrangements will potentially extend to other BAE Systems business units as well.
